Welcome to May, my friends. If you'll look at the counter on the big board (don't, there's no actual counter... or big board) you'll notice that I'm only 84 pages away from completion on this draft. It's so exciting, my hands are shaking.
I would've put a bigger dent in that today, but I had work... and had to walk in the rain. Cold, snowy rain. On May 1st. But grumbling aside, I was fairly busy today. Hopefully tonight and tomorrow will help me take a big chunk out of that remaining 84 pages. But what's next? I mean, I have some ideas on what to write next, but there's more beyond that. I have to find an agent. I'm following several on twitter, learning what they're looking for and who I mesh with. I'm exploring my novel, trying to figure out the best way to market it, what target audience is, and even what my specific genre is. I've been writing under the impression that it's Urban Fantasy, but when I started looking, there are more sub-genres than I ever expected. For now, at least, I'm still moving forward with Urban Fantasy, but I need to be ready to change things to fit whatever the situation calls for. I'm also looking forward to doing some more project work with a friend of mine after May. There's just so much coming for me and I'm excited to face it all. Of course, first and foremost is The Paladin. I'm excited to be so close to the end and I can't wait to show it off for you all. DFTBA
